Slamdance!!!
"Feelings and Stuff" is chosen to Slamdance Film Festival. Joy Saez, Film programmer of the festival, writes: "Feelings and Stuff is a capricious story regarding relationships and the considerable effects our childhood experiences have on our relationships as adults. Samuli Valkama displays a magnificent balance of comedy, drama and romance in this sweet film."
The Slamdance film festival takes place each year in Utah at the same time as the Sundance Film Festival, competing with Sundance to provide what its supporters consider a truer representation of independent film-making. It champions beginning directors with limited budgets. Festival discoveries have included directors such as Christopher Nolan (Memento), Marc Forster (Monster's ball) and Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite).

A French guy called Galanga writes very nicely about Feelings and Stuff in his blog. "Samuli Valkama is a film director, by now he has made a few ads and music stuff, and two short movies, both absolutely magic, incredble, I don't know how to say how much I like those movies!!!" -- Thank you very much!

Feelings and Stuff is mentioned in the film business bible, Variety, in an article about the Feel Good Film Festival. While describing the festival the article states "Some 53 films are slated so far, with typical festival hallmarks such as navel-gazing and family dysfunction replaced by warm-fuzzy titles such as Angels in the hood, Girls of Summer and Feelings and Stuff (!!!).

A Bootleg!
While googling to find news about "Feelings" I found a site called www.Movies4wholesale.com who are selling a DVD of 'Feelings and Stuff'! For the cost of 4 dollars! That means it's a bootleg, since there's not any official DVD release available yet. But that's actually quite flattering since it means that somebody has liked the film enough to think that it might be a good business to try sell it. So thank you for the compliment!

Cannes, Cannes, Cannes
After five days of festival frenzy I started to feel a little bit on a low energy. I wasn't even so interested anymore about seeing Clint Eastwood or Angelina Jolie walking somewhere close by... Anyhow the festival was inspiring and thought provoking - but after seeing quite many films the question arises: does every film really have to be about so dark subject matters? - well, maybe it's the sign of the times - or at least this year was.
From the many good films I saw during the festival the "Involuntary" by Ruben Östlund stood out. It was somehow very true and very funny at the same time. I did have some trouble understanding the message of the film - but maybe that is not always so important. Also "Cloud 9" by Andreas Dresen was a beautiful film about elderly people in love. Absolutely great actors!
